Please join us next week as RMTV will provide a session on Cognitive Function – is it just call the Neuropscyhologist OR …? with Dr Wendy Castle (Consultant Physician in Rehabilitation Medicine). Many of you will know Dr Castle as the Consultant on the ABI Unit at Austin Health. We are very grateful to Dr Castle for her time in what is certain to be a valuable session for participants. The goals for the session are:
-
Understand what we mean by cognition;
-
Understand how we assess cognition and what the role of neuropsychology can be;
-
How to read and interpret a neuropsychological report;
-
Understand how some of the tests work and what they are telling us;
-
Understand the limitations of a neuropsychological assessment;
-
Understand how to do bedside testing – what is our role?;
-
And the age-old question – Does the patient have capacity? What do we mean by this?
-
Finally – “cognitive rehabilitation” – just what is it?
