RMTV are proud to present a valuable session by Dr Paul Yates (Consultant Geriatrician, Austin Health) & Mr Tim Tran (Senior Pharmacist & Clinical Training/Education, Austin Health) on De-Prescribing in Rehabilitation. We welcome all trainees to attend in person.

The presenters will cover many aspects for the session, including:
• Introduction to de-prescribing
o What is it? Why is it important (which will include costs to the patient, inappropriate prescribing, ADRs)? Risks?
• When to de-prescribe?
• How to de-prescribe?
o De-prescribing principles & safety mechanisms
• Resources available (apps, and the role of the pharmacists)
• Case studies
o Pertinent to medication safety & AEs from incorrect medication etc.
The learning objectives (knowledge & skill acquisition), in relation to the AFRM curriculum, have been requested to include:
• Summarise the evaluation of common comorbidities that may impact on rehabilitation management , including “inappropriate medication use and adverse drug reactions”
• Supervise all aspects of rehabilitation management, including “medication”
